Bounce.. Bounce..

Weekends are deliciously random, don’t you think?

Grocery shopping on a Saturday morning, I chanced upon two items on the Sainsbury’s shelves that may well be sent into orbit with our spaceperson one day..

And chilling out on the afternoon, I discovered that when Tim left the L Word in Season 2 Episode 1…

… it was to take up a job as Dean of Discipline at the Harbor School, Newport Beach.

That’s right. Eric Mabius re-appears, for who knows how long, in the O.C. Season 3 Episode 2. And a right bastard he is, yay!

Oh and erm.. men get tetchy, eh, when their God-given rights are tweaked. Everyone is all for standardisation of Syariah Law in accordance to Islam Hadhari – and then you touch on polygamy and it all breaks loose. I wonder what will happen if the ‘berlaku adil’ part of polygamy is enforced and all men have to go checks to make sure they really are fair. Or if they check what other parts of ‘Sunnah Rasulullah’ do they practise, other than marrying more than one woman. Ben Parker got it right ages ago: “With great power comes great responsibility.”

It is as not funny, perhaps, as it is ironic, or even sad, that when advances makes it easier for you to be in touch with the ones you love, it does not ease that heavy longing in your heart. If in fact it were possible, it adds to the weight of things. You end up riding the wave and wait for it to wash over; or you wait for the precariously thinning strings to snap; or you take the next plane home.

I got my new glasses today. Let’s hope they add some depth to the perspectives.
